My name is Michael Gallus. I was born in Fiji and came to Australia when I was 2. I am a happily married man to wife Amanda and father of three children Thomas, Lily and Benjamin and puppy dog GiGi. I am the Founding Director of the Volunteer Childrens sporting foundation Footys4all, an Uber car driver, Maths Tutor, Overnewton and Genazzano College Sporting coach, former PEGS primary school teacher of two decades and community junior sporting coach of 22 years experience.
Last year I was introduced to the Matt and Karen Langdon led Hero Round Table Yarram event through my good friend Kate Austin of Pinchapoo fame. I applied to speak about founding Footys4all and all that I had experienced and learnt as a volunteer charity organiser and was accepted. This experience became another life changing moment for me as I became immersed into a community of like minded, supportive and passionate humans all linked through a common goal of making the world a better place in their own way. I came away from this weekend with many new truly inspirational friends and a commitment to redouble my efforts with Footys4all to create safer and healthy communities across Australia and around the world all through the power of sport.
I also came away with a longing to create a community of inspiring speakers of extra ordinary, ordinary people that was available for school children and businesses to hear from to raise money for charity (with each speaker donating 10% of their speakers fee to their chosen choice of charity, in a world first.) and create positive change in the world. I also wanted to have presenters that not only motivated their audience to create positive world change but also educated them in how to do it. I floated the idea with my new Yarram Hero Round Table friends, who were all immediately on board and MGG Educators and Motivators- www.mggeducatorsmotivators.com was born. It has been 12 months nearly to the day since I first raised the idea for this business and I am pleased to say there are 30 speakers nationally committed to changing the world for the better and raising money and awareness for their individual charities through their stories and many more making contact daily to join.
I look forward to telling you how through hard work, self belief, perseverance and great support that you too can create your own MGG Educators and Motivators just like I have to impact the world in a positive way. Footys4all-www.footys4all.com.au, for those of you who dont know, is a totally volunteer organisation which has distributed hope and sporting opportunities to over 24,000 children in need in the last 7 years of operation. Essendon AFL aboriginal legend Michael Long is an Footys4all ambassador and 2010 Australian of the Year Professor Pat Mcgorry is a board member. Footys4all is widely recognised in many remote aboriginal communities Australia wide as well as impacting children and communities in Fiji, India, Africa and New Zealand.
My volunteer work as the Founding Director of Footys4all has seen me nominated for Australian of the Year in 2015, awarded the Pride of Australia Medal in 2016 and awarded The 2017 Premier of Victoria Champion Volunteer Impact Award.
