Mikhara Ramsing is a 28 year old social entrepreneur from Brisbane, Australia. She runs two social enterprises in the human rights space: Ground Chai, which provides skill workshops for rural schools in Australia funded by the sale of chai; and Ethnic LGBT+, a national website providing a safe place for members of the culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) LGBTIQA+ community to share their stories. She believes stories save lives and has travelled around Australia in a self-built tiny home connecting with rural and regional youth to empower their voice in creating a more inclusive Australia. She has been nominated as the Young Australian of the Year QLD 2019.
Mikhara is also a FYA Young Social Pioneer, the NSW Young Achiever 2017 and 1 of 10 Australians awarded a Westpac Social Change Fellowship 2018 enabling her to work with LGBTIQ+ communities around the world, including the world's only openly gay Prince of India. She is formally recognised by the Australian Government as an Emerging Leader for the Australia-ASEAN Region.
