Lizzie Harms

Lizzie Harms has been inspiring students throughout South Gippsland, The Bass Coast and Baw Baw region in Victoria, Australia. Particularly about the importance of gender equality and standing up for yourself and others. She has gained the support of fellow students at Leongatha Secondary College and all people throughout the South Gippsland region after solely organising the Empowering Young Women event in March 2018, where she spoke alongside Clementine Ford.

From this Lizzie grew her aspiration for speaking about her experiences with gender inequality and sexual abuse/harassment/assault which led her to being a speaker alongside Rosie Batty at an event in May 2018. Through promoting respect, positive attitudes and behaviours Lizzie aims to motivate not only women, but all people all over the world to be strong, resilient and successful despite life's limits. She has her sights set on furthering her speaking career as a gender equality activist due to the outreach of people since the ‘Empowering Young Women’ event.  She is hoping to workshop with high school students on how to manage situations and move past them in order to create a positive change in not only individuals' lives but leave a lasting impact on global scale.
